The FIFA agent exam 2027 registration cost is usually the first thing aspiring agents ask about, and the honest answer starts with a caveat. FIFA has not published 2027 fees or dates yet. You do not have to wait to plan though. According to the last exam cycle, here is what you pay to apply, what you pay after you pass, and the other cost that may not make it onto the registration page.
How Much Is the FIFA Agent Exam Fee?
The FIFA Agent Exam registration fee for 2026 was USD 100, payable through the FIFA Agent Platform when you apply. This covers one exam attempt, but it is only the first expense to consider if you want to become a licensed football agent.
The exam lasts 60 minutes and consists of 20 multiple-choice questions. To pass, you must score at least 75%, which means answering 15 questions correctly. Before paying the registration fee, make sure you meet the application requirements outlined in the FIFA Football Agent Regulations.
For candidates outside of the US, there is another detail to consider. Since the fee is charged in US dollars, the amount deducted from your account will depend on the exchange rate and any applicable bank charges. Check your card’s international payment limit before the application window opens to avoid unnecessary delays.
Once you have paid the exam fee, however, there is another major expense to prepare for: the licence itself.
What Does the FIFA Agent Licence Cost After You Pass?
Passing the FIFA Agent Exam is an important milestone, but it does not automatically make you a licensed football agent. You must complete the licensing process and pay the applicable fee within 90 days of passing.
The initial licensing fee is USD 600. After your first licensing period, the annual renewal fee is USD 300 for each subsequent licence year, payable before 1 October.
These payments provide access to essential services, including the FIFA Agent Platform, FIFA’s continuing professional development programme and dispute resolution through the Agents Chamber of the Football Tribunal. You can find more details in FIFA’s official FAQ for football agents.
This means that even if you pass on your first attempt, you should budget for both the USD 100 examination fee and the USD 600 initial licence fee. But these official charges are not necessarily the only expenses you will face.
What Other Costs Should You Budget for When Becoming a Football Agent?
The FIFA exam and licensing fees are straightforward to calculate. The additional costs can be less predictable, depending on how you prepare and the steps you need to complete along the way.
Exam preparation
Preparing for the FIFA Agent Exam takes time, and some candidates choose to invest in structured courses, practice questions and additional learning resources.
If you decide to use a preparation course, factor that expense into your budget before the exam. The aim is to find an approach that helps you understand the regulations, practise applying them to different scenarios, and identify areas where you need more work.
Bank charges and other administrative expenses
International payment charges and currency conversion can increase the amount you spend beyond the published FIFA fees. Depending on the applicable requirements, you may also need to account for administrative steps involving your national football association.
The cost of a failed attempt
This is one expense worth thinking about before you apply. If you fail the exam, you may need to pay the USD 100 registration fee again when you next apply, alongside any additional preparation expenses.
You should also consider the time involved. Rather than treating preparation as something to fit in at the last minute, create a realistic study schedule and make the most of the time available.
With these additional expenses in mind, what should you actually set aside to become a FIFA football agent?
How Much Does It Cost to Become a FIFA Agent in Total?
Your total cost depends on whether you pass the exam on your first attempt and how much you spend on preparation.
Here is a breakdown of the official FIFA fees, excluding preparation costs, bank charges and other administrative expenses.
| Expense | Pass on first attempt | Pass after one failed attempt |
|---|---|---|
| Exam registration | USD 100 | USD 200 |
| Initial licence fee | USD 600 | USD 600 |
| Total FIFA fees | USD 700 | USD 800 |
If you pass on your first attempt, your official FIFA fees total USD 700 for the initial licensing period. If you fail once and pass at your next opportunity, the total rises to USD 800, assuming the stated fees remain unchanged.
The difference is USD 100 in direct examination fees, before accounting for any additional preparation expenses or changes in the applicable fees.
After the initial licensing period, you should also budget for the USD 300 annual renewal fee. These figures give you a starting point, but always confirm the applicable charges on FIFA’s official platforms before making payments.

Knowing how much the FIFA Agent Exam costs is only part of preparing for the application process. You also need to consider how to give yourself the best chance of passing.
Understanding the regulations is essential, but the exam also requires you to apply what you have learnt when answering questions under time pressure. Reading through the materials repeatedly may help you become familiar with the rules, but you also need to test your understanding and practise working through different scenarios.
That is where structured preparation can make a difference.
