FIFA Agent Exam 2026: What You Need to Know

Registration for the FIFA Agent Exam 2026 opened on January 20, 2026, and thousands of candidates worldwide have already registered. But while registration is necessary, understanding how the exam works is what separates those who pass from those who don’t.

Take the 2025 numbers as an example. Out of 16,117 applications received by FIFA, only 9,148 candidates were actually scheduled to sit for the exam. Some applicants were asked to withdraw, while others failed to meet eligibility requirements. What’s even more concerning is that only 5,122 candidates (56%) completed the Pre-Exam Readiness Check.

This article breaks down everything you need to know before, during, and after the exam attempt, ensuring you’re fully prepared to become a licensed FIFA Football Agent.

Exam Format and Structure.

The FIFA Football Agent Exam consists of 20 multiple-choice questions and lasts 60 minutes. To pass, you need a minimum score of 75%, meaning 15 out of 20 questions answered correctly. The exam can be taken in English, French, German, or Spanish, with all candidates drawing from the same question database regardless of their location. During the exam, temporary breaks are not allowed, including bathroom breaks. To avoid disqualification, you must remain seated throughout the entire 60-minute session.

Understanding the 75% Pass Mark

The 75% pass mark is one of the most critical aspects of the FIFA Agent Exam. It requires 15 correct answers out of 20 questions. In other words, you can only afford to get 5 questions wrong.

  • Score 15+ questions correctly = Pass (75%+)
  • Score 14 or fewer correctly = Fail (below 75%)

Application and Registration Requirements

To sit for the exam, you must register on FIFA’s digital platform during the designated application window. Here’s a critical detail: all deadlines follow the Zurich, Switzerland, time zone and not your local time zone. This means that if you submit at 10:59 PM in your country but it’s already past midnight in Zurich, you’ve missed the deadline.

In 2025, 373 candidates missed the deadline, so plan accordingly.

Eligibility Requirements For The FIFA Agent Exam 2026

FIFA carefully reviews each application to ensure candidates meet the eligibility requirements. Before you can sit for the FIFA Agent Exam, you must meet specific eligibility criteria outlined in the FIFA Football Agent Regulations (FFAR). Review all requirements carefully before submitting your application to avoid withdrawal or rejection.

Technical Requirements and Device Specifications

FIFA requires candidates to use two separate devices during the exam:

Primary Device: A laptop or desktop with a functional camera and microphone for taking the exam.

Secondary Device: A smartphone with camera and microphone capabilities for registration and invigilation. Both devices must pass the Pre-Exam Readiness Check done on/before April 14, 2026. This mandatory test verifies that your equipment works properly, your internet is stable, and your exam environment meets all requirements. You must complete this check before the deadline or you will be disqualified from taking the exam. Additionally, ensure your devices are fully charged or connected to a reliable power source during the exam as you are fully responsible for any device malfunctions, which will lead to disqualification.

Internet Connectivity Requirements.

A stable internet connection throughout the entire 60-minute exam is mandatory. You need uninterrupted access with sufficient bandwidth to prevent disconnection. If your internet fails during the exam, you won’t be able to complete your attempt, and your license application will be rejected. You can consider taking the exam from a location with more stable connectivity or arranging a backup internet source if your home internet is unreliable. FIFA will not accept responsibility for technical difficulties caused by internet connection failures, software updates occurring between your readiness check and exam day, or hardware malfunctions.

The Room Standards for FIFA Agent Exam 2026.

The exam requires a private room where no other people are present during the session. You cannot use shared spaces like offices, cafés, or public libraries. The room must be quiet with no background noise or distractions. During the exam, the invigilator may ask you to make adjustments such as repositioning your camera or adjusting lighting. Act quickly when making these adjustments because the time spent on them counts against your 60-minute exam period. For example, if you spend 10 minutes fixing your setup, you will only have 50 minutes left for questions. To avoid disqualification, ensure your exam environment meets all these standards before your scheduled session.

Allowed and Prohibited Items for The FIFA Agent Exam 2026

For the exam, FIFA makes a clear distinction between what you can and cannot use.

Allowed Items:

  • Prescription glasses (if needed)
  • One non-alcoholic beverage (possibly water or soft-drink)
  • Official study materials (Can only be accessed electronically on approved devices only. Printed copy isn’t allowed)
  • One blank sheet of paper and one pen (checked by invigilator; you must destroy notes after the exam)
  • Medical or disability aids such as hearing aids (if previously disclosed to and approved by FIFA)

Prohibited Items:

  • Mobile phones (except the secondary device being used for invigilation)
  • Food
  • Cigarettes
  • Headphones or earphones
  • Any other items the invigilator sees as  inappropriate or refuses to allow.

The invigilator has final authority over what’s permitted, so verify any questionable items beforehand.

Required Conduct During FIFA Agent Exam 2026.

All candidates are expected to maintain academic and professional integrity throughout the exam. In order to avoid disqualification, you must not:

  • Use unauthorized items or devices
  • Communicate with anyone except invigilators
  • Copy or obtain answers from others
  • Record the exam in any form
  • Arrange for someone else to take the exam on your behalf
  • Use any software, websites, or materials beyond the official platform, study materials, and the unofficial Translator tool during the exam session (N.B: the unofficial Translator tool is used at your own risk)
  •  Leave the exam session before being dismissed by the invigilator.

Even if you finish all 20 questions early, you must remain in the session until the invigilator dismisses you.

Medical Accommodations

Candidates with medical conditions or disabilities can email regulatory@fifa.org with written documentation and proper medical records to request accommodations such as extra time, special equipment (at your expense), or text-to-speech software. Each request is reviewed by FIFA on a case-by-case basis. Kindly note that all candidates must still achieve the 75% pass mark, regardless of any accommodations received.

How to Use the Study Materials

The FIFA Agent Exam is open book, which means you can access the official materials online during the 60-minute session. However, with roughly 3 minutes per question, you don’t have all the time to research every answer from scratch.

So, think of the study materials as a reference tool to verify specific details, not as your primary source of knowledge. Ensure you familiarize yourself with the regulations to make your search much more easier. Our FIFA Agent Exam 2026 Course can help you solve this problem. It covers all the FIFA regulations and statutes, including:

  • Nine in-depth courses totaling over 21 hours of content
  • 236 lessons and 37 quiz papers
  •  Practice questions and mock FIFA Agent Exams

This proven approach maximizes your preparation time and increases your chances of passing on the first attempt.

Unforseen Circumstances (Force Majeure)

FIFA recognizes that unforeseen circumstances beyond your control, known as force majeure, may prevent you from completing the exam. These include natural disasters or emergencies. But, to qualify for consideration, this circumstance must be reported to FIFA invigilators during your exam day, before the session ends. If FIFA is satisfied with your explanation, it may reschedule your exam session. But keep in mind that FIFA has discretion here and isn’t required to reschedule in all situations.

IMPORTANT: Technical issues like device malfunctions, incompatibility issues, or internet connectivity problems are NOT considered force majeure. You are fully responsible for ensuring all systems work properly before and during the exam.

Grading System for the FIFA Agent Exam 2026

The grading system is strict and straightforward: only fully correct answers receive marks. There is no half mark. Kindly note the following:

Multiple-Answer Questions: If a question states “Select one or more,” you must select all correct answers to receive the point.

No Half Marks: Choosing one correct answer when two or more are required earns zero marks. You must choose all the correct answers.

No Negative Marking: You are not penalized for incorrect answers, so it is always better to guess than to leave a question blank.

Results and Review Process

The exam results will be communicated before June 4, 2026—within 30 days of the last exam session. Candidates who fail may request a review within three days (by June 7) by emailing regulatory@fifa.org with a detailed justification. Reviews can only be granted for fundamental and obvious errors in applying FIFA regulations. General complaints about exam difficulty or score disputes are not considered.

All exam results and communications from FIFA’s general secretariat are final and binding without the right to appeal. Once the review process concludes (or if no review is requested), no further challenge is possible.

What Next After Passing the FIFA Agent Exam 2026?

Passing the FIFA Agent Exam is a remarkable achievement, but it’s only the first step. Once you receive your pass notification within 30 days of the exam, you must follow the instructions on the FIFA Agent Platform to complete your licensing procedure.

IMPORTANT: The annual fee must be paid within 90 days of passing the exam. Ensure you complete payment within this timeframe. 4,792 candidates had their passing revoked in 2025 due to late payment. The licensing process can take several weeks after passing the exam, so be patient and ensure you submit all required documentation promptly. Once you receive your official FIFA Football Agent license, you’ll be registered in FIFA’s global database and can begin representing players, coaches, and clubs in professional football transactions worldwide. Remember: Passing the exam is just the first step. Completing the full licensing procedure is what makes you an official FIFA Football Agent.

Why Understanding These Rules Matters.

As mentioned earlier, many candidates were denied the opportunity to take the exam last year simply because they didn’t understand the rules. Knowing these requirements as thoroughly as you know the study material can mean the difference between passing and disqualification. While understanding the rules is essential, practice is equally crucial. Our Ultimate Guide for the FIFA Agent Exam includes 400 of the most common exam questions and 25 key concepts you must master. Beyond understanding the rules, you need extensive practice. Grab your copy here.
